Big Data Engineer

Description:
Currently looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer to fill an opening with a company here in Cambridge, MA. Interested candidates should have experience working with Spark or Scala, scripting in Python and Big Data SQL.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Big Data Engineer
Lead, design and implement innovative analytical solutions and work alongside the product engineering team, evaluating new features and architecture.
Understand the business and domain.
Write well documented code & overview in GIT (how to use, build, run).
Adheres to TDD standards, and provides a reference implementation.

Requirements
Scala, Spark, Spark Unit Testing and Data Wrangling experience .
Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
3 plus years of experience building large scale software systems.
Familiarity with agile process.
Experience in AWS cloud technologies.
Broad knowledge of IT technologies such as RDBMS, document stores, AWS, web programming, web services, Java and Python.
Experience with docker and kubernetes.
Experience with modern dev-ops methodologies (git, jenkins etc...).
