Responsibilities:
• Perform software requirements analysis, system integration activities, lead research, design, develop and test software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancing existing applications, systems or embedded products.
• Perform technical planning, verification and validation of others work, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Perform analysis for all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, architecture, user experience, test, installation, operation, maintenance.
• Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the development of complex solutions.
• Work on the hardest technical problems facing the company, often these problems are unusually complex and require the utmost creativity and innovation.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into software solutions utilizing whatever development lifecycle techniques or model will yield the optimal results (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, market trends, state of technology and industry, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Apply and champion the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
• Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in internal review of software components and systems.
• Receive no appreciable instruction on day-to-day work; more often responsible to define the scope, schedule and expectations for the work they execute or lead; assignments may be self-initiated.
• Work under consultative direction on predetermined long range objectives.
• Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments for self and teams.
• Accountable to lead and manage the completion of major programs and projects.
• Responsible for resolution of significant and diverse range of complex problems and issues of broad scope and complexity which require the use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Identify and lead the execution of risk mitigation strategies.
• Work on advanced applications that may result in new business and revenues for the company.
• Provide leadership and/or direction and/or supervision to lower level employees and teams.
• Lead large technical tasks and large teams and projects.
• Lead medium to large technical proposals.
• Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
• Frequently responsible to lead collaboration activities with senior management and leadership within the company.
• Frequently responsible to lead collaboration with organizations outside engineering or with external customers and vendors/suppliers.
• Frequent contact with Business Development.
• Serve as consultant to senior management and customers on projects and applications.
• Recognized internally and/or externally as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields.
• May serve as company technical spokesperson.
• Frequently contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas, applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts.
• Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments .


Qualifications:
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance within an acceptable timeframe. Preferred- Current Department of Defense TS/SCI - SI/TK clearance.
• Travel may be required.
• Preferred- several years of experience in developing software associated with SIGINT/COMINT/ELINT and Electronic Warfare systems.
• SIGINT/COMINT/ELINT and Electronic Warfare systems.
• Development of DSP algorithms.
• Modeling in MATLAB.
• Experience in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environment (DEVOPS) in a open source tool chain environment.
• Agile Development Methodologies.
• Cloud environments, technologies, and applications.
• C/C++, Python, and Java code development, integration and test.
• Subsystem integration and test.
• Agile Development Methodologies.
• Virtual Machine and Container technology and concepts.
• Embedded Linux and Windows.
• Seasoned, experienced professional having a broad range of expertise, unique knowledge and a wide range of professional experience and possessing a substantial understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
• Possess the skills and aptitude to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
• Substantial skills at helping company meet financial and business objectives by resolving complex issues in creative, effective and financially favorable ways.
• Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
• Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

• Preferred: SIGINT Systems, ELINT Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, and Cyber Systems.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), combined with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
