Sr. Software QA Engineer - Clearance

Description:
We have an immediate need for a Sr. Software (SW) Quality Engineer (QE) to join our team located in San Diego, CA. The position is responsible for Software Quality reviews in association with the software build process and delivery of various product lines. The ideal candidate will be motivated and highly capable of collaborating and interacting with various Product Line disciplines and other businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess Engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Code Reviews, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects.
• Perform project data analysis to drive root cause and correction action
• Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirement verification
• Review Risk and Opportunity data to lead projects to eliminate risks and/or realize opportunities
• Investigate failures, participate in failure review boards, support failure investigation teams and drive root cause analysis
• Drive continuous improvement

Required Skills:
• Minimum of 4 years SW Engineering, SW Testing or equivalent SW lifecycle experience

Desired Skills:
• Domain knowledge in SW Coding and/or Testing
• Domain knowledge in Agile, Code Analysis and/or Test Automation techniques
• Demonstrated Applied Critical Thinking Skills
• Ability to influence without authority, experience with cross-functional teams
• Experience in multiple phases of the program / product life cycle
• Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action expertise
• Ability to prioritize workload in a multi-tasking, resource constrained work environment
• Prior Quality Engineering experience
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification, Six-Sigma Expert or Six-Sigma Black Belt
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to leadership

Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

Hours: 9/80 8am-5pm
