Software Engineer - Display Systems Engineering - CDS SW Development Support.

Our Client based in China requires a Senior Software Engineer to support their programs in Shanghai.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for providing oversight and guidance of CDS software development. The successful candidate will work with our sub-tier suppliers to ensure best practices are used, and ensuring certification requirements and customer expectations are met.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Ensure sound development methods are being followed.
Actively participate in development reviews including major milestones such as SOI audits as well as daily developmental reviews.
Provide constructive feedback on best practices and areas for process improvement.
Work across multiple teams to ensure adherence to software requirements and development standards.
Willingness to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Provide clear updates on development status and development progress

Qualifications/Requirements:

BS or MS degree of related engineering
At least 10 years’ Software development and or SW requirements experience
At least 5 years’ experience in developing software to DO-178B/C
Strong programming skills, and knowledge of software life cycle development
Ability to guide others and define development processes and standards
Understanding of embedded SW application development

Willingness to collaborate and guide others in a team environment
Experience with SW modelling and code generation tools such as SCADE or Simulink.
Strong programming and debugging skill using C/C++ languages.

Desired Characteristics:

Knowledge of Avionics communications protocols such as ARINC 664, ARINC 429
Solid understanding of SW Systems engineering Tools, development, and configuration processes
Strong oral and written communication skills in English ( Mandarin Chinese would be very helpful).
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organisation and external customers.

Candidates should be prepared to live and work in China for up to a year for this role. Role is offered on a contract basis.
