Software Development Engineer - Senior

Client's Catalog Position: Senior SW Design Engineer to support existing and new enhancements to the JIRA Test Infrastructure, support data pulls into a comprehensive Report structure and help with Test Automation Development (3-5 years of experience),

Job Description: The Validation Enablement Team in the Semi-Custom Post Silicon Engineering Department is responsible for providing support of all Validation efforts on next generation microprocessors (CPU), Acceleration Processing Units (APU), Graphics Processing Units (GPU), Discrete graphic solutions and any other silicon or board solutions developed at client's for specific customers of the Semi-Custom Business Unit. The VE Team is looking for a SW Tools and Infrastructure Development individual that can work with very senior level Engineers, Managers and Program Managers to continue and enhance the development of the Automation Framework that will maximize resources to validate these SoC Architectures and allow the various Teams to meet their Program milestones.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute in the development of Test Scripts, Automation Infrastructure and Framework to enable post-silicon activities related to all aspects for Validation, Characterization and Optimization of CPU/GPU/APU products. This individual will need to work with the various Lead System Engineers (LSE), Horizontal Team Leads/Managers, other Automation Development Engineers and the associated Customers to help define, direct and drive the strategies and methodologies as well as implement the solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations.
The following is a list of but not limited to key responsibilities that the candidate will contribute to:
o Develop and manage JIRA components: Plug-ins, Wizards, fields, flows and all other features that are involved in the planning, execution and status reporting for all existing and new program projects.
o Support the JIRA Tools that have been developed to support current projects but also work with the various Leads to develop and implement new time saving tools and utilities.
o Support Tableau Reporting infrastructure that has been in pilot mode to be more robust and useful for all teams going forward/
o Support the current Automation Frameworks for new products – Infrastructure, Tools, Scripts, GUI, HTML Editors and the like
o Define and Lead the Validation teams in the development of new and improved Automation Infrastructure and/or SW Tools
o Utilize test systems and power measurement equipment for automated test framework.
o Proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon Validation and SW Development

Required Technical Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
• BS Required / MS would be considered a plus
• Experience in a Software Tools and/or Software Automation development team - HW knowledge a plus.
• Desired: JIRA Support- JavaScript, JSON, REST, HTML – Several tools and wizards to work with CTA, and a DLL to support them.
• Desired: Strong C# or JAVA development in a Windows environment a must, XML, XSD (XML Schema), HTML– newer development and maintenance and strong SW Dev skills is desired
• Scripting experience in Perl, Ruby, Python or other such environments is desired and a plus for Legacy support
• Having big data analytics using KNIME, Tableau or other methods would be a plus.
• Visual Studio knowledge – basic knowledge, as well as Template creation support, and NuGet, solution management.
• .NET experience desired but not required
• Knowledge of Linux and open source tools, symbolic debuggers, scripting languages considered a plus
• Unit/Bench testing methodologies – must understand and be able to implement and support this to ensure a degree of QA. Agile/SCRUM methodology experience would be considered a plus
• Multithreaded design principles
• DLL development experience (especially with dynamic loading and reflection)
• Network understanding would be a plus as is familiarity with PC architecture
• Knowledge of computer graphics including the DirectX and Open GL application interfaces is a plus.

• Ability to organize and manage priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication skill - Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
• Able to interact at a professional level with external customers and internal executives.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills considered a plus:
• Knowledge of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) and REST (Representational State Transfer)
• Ability to read and understand programmers register access guides for hardware devices and platform schematics
• Knowledge of PC bus interconnects, such as PCI Express, USB, DDR, or Hyper Transport
• Hardware setup and troubleshooting. This applies mostly to helping debug the infrastructure which requires executing test scripts on the SUTs connected to the Infrastructure.
