Description:
PDS Tech is hiring ASE Certified Techs in Vance, AL.  

Job Summary

Verifies production order completeness, compatibility, and accuracy.  Performs required modifications and repairs to all parts of the vehicle also including but not limited to major components (engine, drive train, suspension, etc.).

Additional Per Diem of $1000/Week
Brand New toolbox and tools provided by the company!

Responsibilities
  • Verifies production order completeness, compatibility, and accuracy
  • Perform modifications and repairs to vans, components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
  • Responsible for removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling and assembling parts, components, engines and drive train components
  • Assemble units according to drawings, sketches, or written instructions. Must perform the assembly of the following systems according to the functional plan: mechanical and chassis components, drivetrain, hydraulic, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Assists preparation of components and sub-assemblies for assembly onto vehicle
  • Performs failure analysis and repairs large-scale parts of vehicle
  • Troubleshoots, removes, and reassembles defective parts, assemblies, or sub-assemblies
  • Participates in problem solving and defining corrective actions
  • Performs functional checks
  • Collects and monitors operational characteristics
  • Completes and ensures availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process
  • Works under broad supervision
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Will perform other duties as assigned
  • Broad base of knowledge about how vehicle components work and interact as well as the ability to work with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer based reference material.
  • Experience with STAR Diagnosis and Mercedes Benz Workshop Information System (WIS).

$1000/Week Per Diem!

Qualifications                                   
Minimum education and years of experience required to perform this job.            
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 3+ years relevant automotive repair experience
  • 1-3 years automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • ASE certifications (below) OR equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • All rework technician team members are required to maintain the qualifications set out in the reworker program, including the ASE certifications
  • Valid US driver’s license

Knowledge and Skills                     
Specialized knowledge and skill requirements to perform this job including certifications, licenses, etc.
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electronics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and quality methods and concepts
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Experience employing manufacturing quality methods
  • Familiarization with Mercedes-Benz function groups, damage codes, failure types, and part numbers
  • ASE certifications
  • A4 – Suspension & Steering
  • A5 – Brakes
  • A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning
  • A8 – Engine Performance
  • A9 – Light Vehicle Diesel Engines
