Controls Technician

Description:
Summary:
The position is responsible for electrical and controls integration of equipment such as extruders, yarn spinners, water cooling troughs, reel take-up / pay-off equipment, and other cable processing equipment on lab development lines and production lines. Programming languages that are used include, but are not limited to, Giddings and Lewis, Allen Bradley and Siemens.

The position also includes the development of a measurement system for verifying the alignment of process tools that are moved in and out of the line between manufacturing runs. In addition to controls specific work, the position would also work project teams to gather data on recently transferred products / processes to determine how the new product / process is performing on a statistical basis to aid technology.

Work schedule: M-F 8-5.

Up to 25% of the work would be working on new process lines at the Winston-Salem manufacturing facility.


Requirements:
Sound knowledge of job and a substantial acquaintance with the general aspects of the job.
Intermediate level technical understanding.
Implements standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow.
Still generally obtains input to solve more complex problems.
Works under general site supervision.
Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures.
Able to train new employees to established procedures.
Takes initiative in the area of continuous improvement.
Uses some discretion.
Contacts are typically within organization.
May occasionally have contacts with others outside of the organization to seek clarity or ask for interpretation.

Education: AAS Desired

Experience: 3+ Years

Manager Must Haves:
-Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix V20 programming system or higher.
-Familiar with integration of equipment components into a functional manufacturing line.
- Modification of the controls based off of data analysis.
-Individual must be capable of executing project assignments in a team based environment with minimal supervision.
