Laser Trackers - Greensboro, NC

Description:
STS AeroStaff Services is currently hiring Laser Trackers for open positions in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Job Duties:

• Uses in-depth familiarity of GD&T to interpret blueprints at all assembly levels.
• Analyzes and collects geometric data via Laser Tracker software (i.e. - Verisurf, Bluelight) to determine specifications using knowledge of tool design, shop math, and assembly procedures to build tools and dies required in manufacturing.
• Interrogates 3 dimensional data and compares actual to 3 dimensional engineering, both part and tooling.
• Produces parts for broken tools with few or no prints as a repair function.
• Consults with other tooling machinists and engineers to translate simple, effective ideas into tools.
• Assists various production department positions with set-up and adjustment of fixtures.
• Modifies and designs tools as needed using Laser Tracker software.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Laser Tracker or Metrologist required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of tooling and tool fabrication used in a production environment required.
• Working knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) calculations.
• Previous experience/use of common close tolerance measuring instruments such as: micrometers, and calipers.
• Proficiency operating metrology software and equipment, i.e. Laser tracker, scanner, metrology arm or CMM.
• Design experience in CATIA V5 software preferred.
• Experience with Verisurf, GOM software, Teamcenter and SAP highly preferred.
• Ability to read prints and inspect dimensions using precision gages.
• Ability to design, modify and produce tooling to exact tolerances.
• Ability to visualize 3D space and integrate complex geometries into both large and small fabrications.
