Planner/Scheduler I

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Planner/Scheduler I in Sarasota, FL

Job Summary:
  • Plans and prepares production materials, travelers, and work orders.
  • Evaluates shortages and notifies of any potential problem if required.
  • Provide production planning, customer service, and procurement support for the repair station activities while being the focal point for assigned customer related inquiries, representing the voice of the customer within the business, and ensuring the growth of the BU.

Duties:

  • On a daily basis reviews material availability in ERP/MRP system to plan actions in support of production releases to MPS schedule;
  • Responsible for reviewing requirement for production’s master schedule (12wks out) and reviewing current forecast for corresponding items;
  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production orders and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials and production orders to meet production requirements;
  • Reviews shortages in existing backlogs and advises management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardy;
  • Confirms and releases work orders including verification of material availability and reissuance of materials based on unexpected yield variances;
  • Prepares and issues production paperwork ,revises and reschedules shop orders in LN when necessary;
  • Works with Production supervisor on a daily basis to monitor status and scheduling in order to obtain on-time delivery of products;
  • Coordinate with production any changes to schedules;
  • Directs or instructs expeditor of products that are required to be sent to finished goods shipment or required follow up for any products;
  • Reviews procured items and releases expedite request to purchasing if material is required urgently;
  • Coordinates sub-contracted orders and creates all required paperwork;
  • Requests physical counts of raw material and work in process (WIP) inventory, identifying and solving inventory variances;
  • Works with all teams involve ensuring timely assessment of failed product in incoming Inspection or Production inspection and addresses any planning related issues;
  • Works with department personnel including Material Handlers, production and buyers resolving material availability issues as they arise;
  • Works with warehouse in order to expedite release of items into the production floor;
  • Reviews and takes any actions requested from MRB findings and squawks;
  • Works with Development Planning group in order to support any required actions related to new Engineering Drawings or any Design Changes;
  • Inputs data into various systems and creates/prepares reports for production planning or customer meetings.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure collaboration and communication with Program Management Organization in SRQ and TWB as well as with the Key Account managers and Customer Support & Sales managers.
  • Open, monitor status and close sales and service orders in the ERP.
  • Identify savings opportunities by searching for used parts in the inventory of installed in “house-owned” units.
  • Monitor progress of maintenance and/or manufacturing jobs routed through the workshops through the ERP and with the production manager (s).
  • Outbound (and occasionally inbound) logistics of the product and parts.
  • Assist invoicing and collection of receivables from the customer.
  • Maintain paper and electronic files of MRO and/or manufacturing jobs per QMS requirements.
  • Issue parts pick tickets from the ERP.
  • Occasionally travel to visit customers at trade shows or at the customer’s facility.
  • Performs contract review of all orders for customer requirements to include import/export shipping, documentation and quality requirements.
  • Make timely status updates to the internal or external customer.
  • Assist in developing appropriate pricing non-standard MRO jobs.
  • Quote MRO jobs to the customer, as authorized, and follow up on quote approvals.
  • The CSR is considered a vital liaison between the repair station and the customer and will work with other employees to share information and help resolve production issues.
  • Manage phone and e-mail communications with customer’s representatives.
  • Develop a relationship of trust with the customer.
  • Works closely with planner to identify shortages and additional order requirements.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.


 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-3 years experience in production planning are required.
  • Entry level job with little or no prior relevant work experience
  • Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks
  • Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy
  • Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals/teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to work at desk/office environment and/or in a shop floor environment.

Education:

  • College degree is preferred (Preferably a degree in Supply Chain management or related field) or comparable experience).

Other Skills:

  • Windows Operating system and Windows Office proficiency is required; Knowledge in Drawing Applications and understanding of drawings is required.
  • Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple accounts and tasks concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Experience optimizing schedule, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Experience with SAP or another integrated enterprise resource program (ERP) to work inside the ERP environment for much of the day.
