(POS) Support Specialist - WA

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Point of Sale (POS) Support Specialist for an opening in Seattle, WA.

Opening for a Point of Sale (POS) Support Specialist at our Seattle office. This person is responsible for the basic technical issue resolution for the Client Stores, Inc. computing operations. Support includes responsibility for supporting approximately 110 end users throughout the central office team 16 physical store locations, traveling stores and warehouse team technical support. Position Responsibilities:
• Technical support of the current POS system including hardware and software (NCR CounterPoint) and Microsoft SQL Database scripting, networking and Windows support.
• Traveling Store support including customization of registers for various geographical locations, tax updates, shipping of computing assets to events.
• Microsoft SharePoint administration, IT Issue Tracker administration; Addressing and resolving IT issues reported by the retail sales associates in the field.
• Management of Client Stores Inc. computing assets, maintaining accurate records of assets by user and location.
• Deployment of new software to support BSI team requirements
• Database management, troubleshooting, ad-hoc queries, SQL programming.
• Data mining / sales and inventory reports
• Maintenance for changes to the BSI Disaster Recovery Plan.
• On-call support, after hours during store hours, rotating with other BSI IT staff.
Job Skills & Qualifications
• Ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks/deadlines.
• Knowledge of Point of Sale hardware, desktops, laptops, scanners, receipt printers, ticket printers, credit card processing machines.
• Strong system investigative and research skills
• Familiarity with ProShip shipping software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Competency in the use of MS Office products (Outlook/Exchange, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Ability to design, develop and troubleshoot reports written in Crystal Reports.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and instructions to managers and client Store employees with ease and confidence.
• An understanding of retail industry standards and principals including, but not limited to purchasing, inventory control, customer tracking, physical count, inventory transfers and shipping is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008+
• Working knowledge of Crystal Reports

• 4+ years of IT experience related to systems support or programming.
• College degree in computer science or related technical discipline preferred
• Experience with NCR CounterPoint SQL preferred; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Client Company IT experience preferred
• Retail Point of Sale IT experience

Accredited Bachelor’s degree.

WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
This candidate must be able to work a non standard work shift. Shift start times and days of week will vary depending on business needs.
