Systems Integration Testing

Location: Savannah, GA
Pay Rate: $50/hr
Duration: Long Term Contract
Shift: 3rd Shift (10PM - 6:30 AM)

Unique Skills:
-This Company is looking for engineers to be part of a team that will be executing aircraft level testing in Company advanced integrated test labs.
-These engineers are expected to have some aircraft systems knowledge.
-Test lab experience is preferred.
-An understanding of verification techniques, especially related to SAE ARP 4754 guidance, along with Systems Engineering experience, is a plus but not required.
-Engineers will have ability to operate independently, documenting issues and communicating those effectively with supporting data.
-An understanding of system interfaces, especially basic digital bus communication like ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and CAN bus to aid in troubleshooting.
-The primary focus of the role is 3rd shift execution of Test procedures and support of engineering system investigations.
-Provide feedback on test procedures, with an understanding of the lab environment.
-Basic troubleshooting skills, experience with hands-on problem solving, and a systematic approach to problem solving are a must.
-Engineers will be expected to work with minimal direction in an integrated systems lab environment, and keep a focus on safe, efficient use of the lab facilities.
-Any experience in automation and scripting with MATLAB, Python, perl, java, c++, and other programming languages is a benefit.
-Experience in post-processing of test data, creation of test results metrics, or knowledge of instrumentation systems and data collection is a plus.
-Systematic use of Problem Reporting tools for collection and management of system problems is key.
-This is a 3rd Shift position, with standard hours of roughly 10PM - 6:30 AM after a training period.
-Successful applicant will be self-motivated, and able to develop a testing approach from initial procedure review, through lab operations, data processing, task optimization, and specifically communication of technical information to a wide range of audiences, meeting customer needs.
-Candidates should have a willingness to work off-shift and weekend hours on occasion when program milestones require.
-Technical writing experience is beneficial.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. See Other Requirements in Job Description. 18 months related engineering experience with Bachelors degree. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for Masters Degree and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job position.

Position Purpose:
Performs engineering work related to the investigation and the solution of technical problems associated with research, design, development, service and manufacture of Company aircraft.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline
2. Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones
3. Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity
4. Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments
5. Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy
6. Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures

Additional Functions:
1. Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements
2. Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise
3. Performs other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:
1. The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline
2. Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures
3. Failure to achieve results, or erroneous decisions or recommendations, may cause delays in program schedules and/or allocation of additional resources
4. Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats
5. Contacts are primarily within the organization, with occasional customer contacts on routine issues
6. Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity
7. With supervision/mentorship, can coordinate the activities for lower level engineering staff
