DESCRIPTION General Summary
Looking for a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer specializing in analog and high-speed digital circuit design to join our Aerospace and Defense team responsible for designing and developing modern communications test systems and solutions. In addition to developing new designs and architectures, the candidate must have solid experience in all phases of new product development; from conception to production.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
 Responsible for the total end-to-end process of capturing requirements, designing, developing, validating, testing, documenting, and transition to manufacturing of electrical and electronics systems and subsystems.
 Work as part of a cross-functional product development team to effectively plan and execute electrical PCB designs to meet critical project requirements and deadlines.
 Perform schematic capture and direct PCB layout.
 Define and document characterization and calibration methodologies, Validation and Verification (V&V) plans, and lead the V&V process for individual designs.
 Work with cross-functional teams across the United States to support new product development and sustainment activities.
 Mentor other engineers and participate in design review activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications
1. Experience and understanding in the application of principles, theories, concepts, practices, and standards relating to modern software-defined architectures and synthetic instrumentation designs.
2. Demonstrated expertise in PCB stackup definition and trade-off analysis, including physical geometry, material selection, crosstalk mitigation, return path management, and manufacturability.
3. Extensive experience with simulation tools, such as LTSpice and HyperLynx
4. Extensive experience and thorough understanding of modern high-speed bus interfaces, including but not limited to USB 3.x, DDRx, PCIe Gen 2/3, Gigabit Ethernet, JESD 204B, and FPGA SERDES interfaces.
5. Experience developing complex mixed-signal designs and architectures.
6. In-depth understanding of schematic capture, circuit design, design tools, circuit simulation, and circuit layout design, techniques, and verification methodologies.
7. Expertise in developing design documentation and test instructions/procedures.
8. Expertise in taking a product design from concept to production.
9. Expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT).
10. Provide technical leadership in complying with regulatory agencies in order to meet safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements.
11. Strong analytical reasoning and problem solving skills with knowledge in performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective action to resolve test failures.
12. Ability to act as an engineering lead and subject matter expert for one or multiple concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams in multiple geographic locations.
13. Must be a US person.
Education/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (BSEE) or related field is required, Master’s Degree (MSEE) is preferred.
2. 15+ years of experience in Electrical Design.
Computer Skills:
1. Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout.
2. Experience with simulation tools, such as LTSpice, HyperLynx, ADIsimCLK, etc.
3. Experience with software and firmware development languages, such as C, C++, C#, VHDL, MATLAB, and LabVIEW is a plus.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office
