Quality Engineer 3 *Remote*

Defense, Space & Security (DS) is seeking a Mid-Level Supplier Quality Engineer CONTRACTOR to join the Supplier Quality team. This position is located in Seattle, Washington and requires on-site support of multiple suppliers. This is an autonomous position, therefore, the candidate must have the ability to work from home or a supplier location.
Remote, onsite or a combination of both? NEED TO BE LOCAL BUT REMOTE. Contractor would create their own schedule, flexibility, depending on the supplier base/SOW they can flex hours. Assuming they can complete their SOW effectively and in a timely manner. Are you okay with out-of-state candidates? NO


Position Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes and conducts audits/assessments of supplier's systems, processes, and products
Documents and reports audit/assessment results
Performs product verification to assess compliance to applicable requirements
Assesses capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work
Investigates and resolves concerns to ensure compliance with requirements
Provides education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity
Performs data analysis to determine engagement strategy at suppliers
Reports status of supplier performance
Ability to plan, prioritize and manage daily assignments
Participates in Program and Production Readiness Reviews at suppliers
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
3+ years of experience in Quality / AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Processes
3+ years of experience in data analysis and root cause corrective actions (RCCA)
3+ years of experience performing data analysis using excel
3+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawing, or specifications
Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel and Power Point
Must possess a valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with hands-on inspection of product
1+ year of experience using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Tools
3+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry

Skills: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Due to Company education requirements please make sure all submitted candidates have a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. If they do not meet this requirement, please withdraw them from consideration ASAP.
