Project Support 3

PDS Tech is seeking a candidate for the Project Support Specialist 3 position located in Alburquerque, NM.  

• To act as and to represent the Company on construction sites and to take responsibility for the delivery of site-based project activity on site. 


• Reports to Director of Project Management 
• Overall control of all staff on site, including Site Supervisors, Advanced Craftsmen and Site sub-contractors 
• Supported on site by a Back-office, Site Project Administrator, Installation and Commissioning Engineers, Project Engineer (as needed) and by subcontractor’s team leaders. 


Day-to-Day Control of Site (50% of time): 

The Site Manager has full responsibility for day-to-day site activities including: 
• Establish construction procedures requirements for contractors 
• Responsible for all construction activities related to the project 
• Supervise and support civil and construction field engineering as needed 
• Ensure Contractor executes construction in accordance with contract and applicable codes and standards 
• Monitor Contractors organization plans, resourcing and performance 
• Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards. 
• Review, evaluate and recommend Change Order disposition / Claim Management to ensure effective trend analysis and cost control 
• Review and acceptance of Health and Safety Plans and method statements and their implementation 
• Co-ordination with Customer’s site representatives 
• Co-ordination with office-based project team(s) 
• Co-ordination with local organisations and third parties affected by the works 
• Site document control and reporting. 
• Co-ordinate clients standard weekly co-ordination meetings 
• Site walks and general site observation. 
• Works to a comprehensive set of documents laid down in the clients Project Drawings and Specifications 
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (30% of time): 

• Ensures that a safe working environment is provided at all times and obtains any necessary documentation such as, Risk Assessments and Method Statements 
• Ensure that all site personnel comply with all OSHA requirements while liaising with client’ and Customer’s EHS Manager on non-conformance and accident / incident reporting. 
• To carry out and participate in site audits and inspections. 
• Principal contractor responsibility: To act as and perform the role of the Principal Contractor's site representative 
• Ensure that the control of site safety and good environmental practice is in accordance within the client's EHS Management Plan and any customer requirements including waste control procedures. 
• To instigate, hold and develop on site tool box talks according to site / contract requirements. 

Contract Management (20% of time): 
• Complete daily and weekly report sheets for monitoring progress. 
• Responsible for the set up and maintenance of the site infrastructure including temporary offices, services and emergency plans. 
• To act as the primary on site point of contact with clients. 
• To liaise with the Project Manager/ Engineer of the appropriate project team, providing project information, feedback and reports as required. 
• To assist the Site Services / Project Manager in vetting and approval of third party contract workers. 
• To monitor and report progress against the project schedule for site related activities. 
• To chair / attend project and site meetings as needed and in coordination with the Project Management Team 

• To carry out any other activities which the Company may reasonably require to be undertaken on a temporary basis which are within an individual’s area of competence 
• Carries out any other duties within his competence as directed by the Project Manager 
• Commitment to clients Think Customer policy including excellent call handling and voice mail skills 


• Operates within a budget defined by the Project Manager 
• May provide input into the selection of subcontractor to the Procurement function 


• Must have a minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Supervisor (or equivalent) on an Heavy Construction Industry/ Substation construction site 
• Experienced in all substation site activities including civil, installation, commissioning and health, safety and environmental practice 
• Requires the presence and personal qualities necessary to effectively monitor and control the site – such as people management skills, verbal and written communication skills. 
• Work with international and intercultural project teams 
• Good IT skills – i.e. competence in using Microsoft Office.
