PCT (Process Control Technology) Designer Primary function: PCT design groups provide electrical, instrumentation and controls design support for existing and new plants. • The job purpose o Develop technically sound and cost effective PCT designs while minimizing design expenditures. o Develops and drafts PCT design based on input/direction of a PCT engineer or PCT lead designer Duties and responsibilities The primary job duties of the PCT designer are a combination of the following descriptions and deliverables. o PCT Designers are responsible for the execution of the PCT design and drafting for Projects or Maintenance Work orders (MWO). This work involves, but is not limited to, the following duties: o The development of the PCT construction packages o Electrical and instrumentation installation support o Updating design documentation to the “as-build” versions o PCT Designer duties include, but are not limited to the design and drafting of: o Cable tray systems o Grounding o Lighting Power o Heat trace o Equipment Room layout o Instrumentation control diagrams o Standard installation details o Maintain Area Classification Drawings o As-built PCT documentation at completion of construction. The above duties are executed via a combination of ACAD, Microstation, (Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) not required but would be a plus). |
