To define, plan, design and refine fixtures, data and processes necessary to facilitate and control the manufacture of products in the St. Louis facilities.
Plans, creates, verifies and revises machine control data and documentation that direct the operation for multi-axis numerically controlled machines and robots required to manufacture and inspect complex parts and tools.
Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical expertise to cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.
Defines and designs complex fixtures used to manufacture or inspect parts.
Plans, guides and facilitates the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods or inspection techniques, processes and software.
Continuously improves the quality of manufacturing processes and supplier-provided work.
Develops processes and procedures for new machines and products.
Is able to work independently without assistance from other Programmers.
Works with customers and Design Engineering to resolve definition and producibility issues.
Experience and Qualifications:
Five (5) to eight (8) years of N/C Programming experience, using CAD/CAM systems to analyze and modify part models and produce programs required.
Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
Unigraphics and/or CATIA are the preferred systems.
3, 4, and 5 axis experience
Familiarity with UNIX and/or Windows NT/2000 environments is highly desirable.
Must have recent and extensive metals experience, all composite is not acceptable
Must have 5-axis NC programming for milling parts.
Must have structure parts, spars, ribs, skins, bulkheads and nacelle fittings (for example)
Must have high speed aluminum machining experience.
Must have Titanium machining experience.
Must have Vericut 7.XXX simulation minimum experience.
Must have Catia V5 R2014 experience or better
Associate’s Degree in N/C Programming, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field preferred. Combination of education and experience, 7 to 10 years may be considered in lieu of degree.
Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.
May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
