Description: PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator for an open position in Columbus, GA. Job Scope
Operates and maintains industrial wastewater Treatment Plant.
Follows procedures regarding cleaning, equipment use, maintenance, calibration, and safe handling of chemicals.
Collecting samples and conducting the in-plant tests necessary to control and monitor treatment facility processes and operation
Performing in-plant operational control tests and process calculations, using various analytical instruments and mathematical calculations.
Recording in-plant test results, various meter readings, gauge reading, flow quantities and other technical data.
Performs in-plant maintenance according to the schedules and procedures established for the facilities to which assigned.
This includes cleaning, servicing, lubricating and repairing pumps, chemical feed equipment, and other mechanical devices regularly found in water, wastewater and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
Monitors SCADA and makes adjustments as necessary to remain in compliance./n
Job Qualifications EDUCATION: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR DEMONSTRATED EQUIVALENT. EXPERIENCE: 6 + YEARS EXPERIENCE.LEVEL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: WORKS UNDER LIMITED SUPERVISION PERFORMING COMPLEX TECHNICAL WORK. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A MAJOR PHASE OR COMPONENT OF A PROJECT. TAKES LEAD ROLE IN WORK FLOW COORDINATION. Specific Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
This is a senior level position with 5 years experience in industrial wastewater treatment plant operations, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
State of Georgia Industrial Wastewater, Class III, Class II Operator, or Class I Operator Certification.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Associates Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or related degree with a focus in inorganic and/or analytical chemistry.
Experience conducting physical inorganic chemical analyses in a commercial contract laboratory, university laboratory, or in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Experience with sampling (manual grab and composite sampling and automatic sampling) and preservation techniques for physical/chemical wastewater analyses and for Total Toxic Organics (EPA Method 624 and Method 625) sample collection.
Familiarity with EPA pretreatment regulations and industrial point source category effluent limitations and guidelines for the Metal Finishing industry (40 CFR 433).
Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Access).
Strong analytical and computational abilities.
Working knowledge of statistical analyses.
Demonstrates initiative and conducts work with minimal supervision.
Able to work in a team environment and independently.
Demonstrates excellent communications skills, both verbal and in technical writing.
