Job Purpose


To conduct and manage the processes for obtaining goods and services for the company.  To serve as agent for the company in managing supplier relationships and activities. To facilitate the process of sending parts to outside Customers, Suppliers and Vendors and to coordinate the return of parts from outside process houses back to source of need. Coordinate activity between internal departments and outside suppliers to insure parts are ready for transport and documentation to the supplier is clear and accurate. Communicate client requirements to ensure that items being sent out are set up and planned accordingly in the MRP system. Coordinate with the supplier and the traffic office the return of completed parts with required documents, i.e., process certifications.
 

Principal Accountabilities



  • Act as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. 
  • Manage supplier performance and ensures satisfactory contract completion and closure. 
  • Mange the receipt and stocking of materials into storerooms and do daily, weekly, monthly inventory maintenance to ensure stocking levels are set correctly to reduce carrying costs as applicable.
  • Enter shop requests through purchase requisition system for material needs, source material from approved supplier(s), and generate purchase orders as applicable. 
  • Develop and integrate requirements, develops requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes supplier responses, negotiates and awards contracts, and manages post-award supplier activities.
  • Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Develop procurement plans related to cost, schedule, quality, delivery, terms and conditions. 
  • Effectively utilize supply chain management tools.
  • Serve on multifunctional teams to define quality, delivery and performance standards. 
  • Develop and maintains long-term relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure a high quality, reliable source of supplies and information.
  • Ensure that planning decisions from external customers and suppliers are incorporated to reduce material and product variability.
  • Develop and implement strategies to leverage the optimum prices and delivery schedules.  Ensure the appropriate negotiation of lead times and price in keeping with these strategies.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Company Policies and Procedures and applicable FAR and DFAR provisions.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Education



  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or related discipline is preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree.


Experience and Qualifications



  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) purchasing and/or supply chain preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of DFAR and FAR, ability to interpret drawings, specifications, etc. is preferred. 
  • Strong personal computer skills (including word processing and spreadsheet software skills) are required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and software is preferable.


Physical Demands



  • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment. 
  • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
  • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
  • Must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 50 pounds of office supplies and materials 
  • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
