Hardware Engineer

Description:
Title: Hardware Engineer
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Duration: 1 year contract

Project Overview:
This team is responsible for for all of the sensing elements that give our products information about the world around us. We are looking for a strong Hardware Test Engineer to assist in the design, development, and implementation of sensor test paradigms. These tests span from the prototype phase through the validation phase and into the factory, and will require development, debug, and operation of various tools and fixtures.

Overall Responsibilities:
Testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of new or existing production hardware.

Top Daily Responsibilities:
Prepare, setup, and run a broad suite of tests on sensor hardware and systems, execute test plans, and drive environmental qualification tests.
Provide test data, analyze these data, and provide recommendations that will help to evaluate mechanical, electrical, thermal, and other environmental performance of sensor systems.

Required Skills:
BS in mechanical, electrical, computer engineering or equivalent to 1+ years experience in related field
Experience in Environmental testing Experience in Statistical analysis
Experience with one or more typical sensor (accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, PIR, magnetometer, anemometer, etc)
Experience with tools (logic analyzer, digItal multimeter, electronic debug tool and Oscilloscope Soldering experience
Electrical circuits prototyping & debug
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Python and Matlab scripting Prototyping computers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Beagleboard, etc

Nice to Haves:
Excellent Communication skills Google Apps such as Docs, Sheets, Sides Experience in consumer electronics
