Senior Electrical Engineer

Description:
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support across multiple programs. The Senior Electrical Engineer will possess strong knowledge of embedded systems and be able to contribute to development efforts. The successful candidate's daily duties will involve developing embedded system designs using contemporary architectures. Designs will be implemented using C/C++ for a range of applications including serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Video DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing, etc. Generating high quality design documentation and demonstrating proficiency at configuration management will be expected. This position requires working knowledge of printed circuit board design, construction, and terminology as required to realize embedded systems in hardware. Strong skills in system analysis, simulation, and algorithm development are also highly desired.

The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; routine communication will occur through MS Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail.

Additional responsibilities include: Senior Electrical Engineer
Work within cross functional teams
Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.
Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.
Actively participate on technical design reviews

Required Skills: Senior Electrical Engineer
Proficiency in C/Assembly language to include advanced aspects, and best practices.
Experience in FW/SW one or more contemporary embedded processor architectures, i.e., ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, etc...
Competency in use of Object-Oriented Programming languages, such as C++
Competency in system analysis using tools such as Python or Matlab to develop algorithms and evaluate system characteristics prior to committing to code.
Familiarity with development using embedded Linux and/or RTOS
Experience with analog and digital peripherals commonly used in embedded systems e.g. SPI Flash, MAC, ADC, etc.
Proficient in using contemporary embedded toolchains such as Keil, IAR, GNU etc.
Experience in troubleshooting embedded systems and electronics in general.
Proficient use of configuration management tools such as git or svn.
Ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks in an organized manner
Demonstrated self-initiative and sound judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations, determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between stakeholders
Our client requires that candidates must have ability to obtain DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) to start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.


Desired Skills: Senior Electrical Engineer
MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Experience in development of Software Defined Radios (SDR)
Understanding of printed circuit board construction, terminology, and design practices
Experience developing designs targeting SoCs
Experience with FPGA design and VHDL
Experience in digital signal processing techniques
Experience working in Agile project management frameworks
Knowledge of Machine Learning models and application

Education Requirements: Senior Electrical Engineer
Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with minimum 5 years of related work experience or a Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering with minimum 3 years of related work experience.
