Aerospace Quality Engineer

Description:
Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 2 to 4 Months

Pay Rate: $50/ hour

Overview:

Develops and implements product and quality systems and facilitates corrective actions to ensure conformity with customer requirements. Interfaces with customers as needed. Generally, operates with appreciable latitude for non-reviewed action and decision making.

Develops quality plans for parts processing and approval of routers, and administers and maintains adherence to these plans.
Certifies that quality specifications are met within customers’ requirements and serves as release agent for part shipments.
Serves as liaison with manufacturing engineers to improve product process.
Serves as technical quality contact with customers.
Assists with the formulation of quality control policies and procedures and recommends revisions of specifications when required.
Identifies and resolves manufacturing quality problems, and assists manufacturing personnel with the interpretation of complex part prints and specifications.
Maintains all material testing plans for customer compliance, and develops testing plans for raw materials.
Develops a fully compliant quality folder, and administers compliance and audit work, work stations, and aerospace paperwork requirements.
Teaches and mentors Quality Engineers II, and teaches quality process to Quality Technicians and manufacturing personnel.
Communicates and corresponds with customers, suppliers, employees, and management within the company regarding quality issues, problems, and complaints.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, quality, or equivalent training and experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Minimum of 3 years as Quality Engineer II or equivalent experience.
In depth knowledge of Non-destructive Testing (NDT) processes and familiarity with the following: welding; heat treating of aerospace alloys; non-destructive testing; shot peening; coordinate measuring machines; inspection methods; and measuring and test equipment.
Proficient in the use of personal computers, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances, and application of SPC to part characteristics.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, and understanding of aerospace requirements.
Must attend training and earn DQR, DSQR, and/or other customer certifications as required in order to release manufactured parts for shipment.
Physical Requirements:

Normal working environment – standing, sitting, walking – typically inside a building. Occasional stooping, twisting, lifting, bending, and carrying. Minimal or no exposure to excessive noise, dirt, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or hazardous conditions. Continual use of computers
