Quality Inspector

Description:
Location: San Marcos, TX
Rate: $43.00/HR
Duration: 8 month contract
Shift: 1st Shift
Per Diem Split / Relocation Help: No

Job Description:
1. The Quality Inspector ensures that the quality of company suppliers, products, and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.
2. Performs all assigned tasks based on demonstrated, certified skills and abilities necessary to inspect Aerostructures components.
3. Quality Inspectors will use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process and completed final products for conformance to engineering requirements.
4. This position works under general supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Perform In-process, Final, and Source Inspection of parts, assemblies and materials to ensure compliance to drawing, or customer directed specifications
2. Use of mechanical inspection tools and gages (Measurement and Test Equipment) as necessary, for specific inspection operations.
3. Uses and interprets the Material Resource Planning (MRP) system
4. Reports and creates non-conformance Quality Notifications using the Non-conforming Material Reporting system in SAP
5. Assists Quality Manager and Supervisor with Quality related tasks as directed
6. Inspects manufactured product and parts, control samples, processes, or test data for conformity to blueprints/authority dataset, specifications and standards.
7. Reports inspection results and substandard conditions on appropriate forms or computer
8. Inspects production machine and process setups when applicable using first production pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints, routings and standards
9. Informs lead/supervision of abnormal situation
10. Ensures quality product utilizing company quality procedures
11. Adheres to all company rules and codes of conduct
12. Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
13. Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
14. May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
