Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer
(U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Required*)
Centennial, CO

• Conduct structural analysis and contribute to the design and testing of propulsion fluid systems/components involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials in cryo and non-cryo environments.
• Propulsion systems include structures, hydraulic components, pneumatic components, fluid transfer components, ducting designs.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, dynamic and structural modeling.
• Perform structural testing as required.
• Tools utilized may include NASTRAN, FEMAP, NX CAE, PATRAN and a variety of software applications.
• Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
• Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
• Failure to achieve expected results would typically result in serious project delays.
• Work with minimal direction. Independently determines and develops approaches to problems.
• Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Receive guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

• Security Clearance / International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, all applicants must be U. S. Persons as defined in ITAR 120. 15
• Travel may be required to other locations and suppliers
• Time management skills and strong self-initiative
• Able to operate independently, and work as part of a team
• Able to present technical concepts and solutions
• Able to apply design concepts to real world solutions
• Able to assess and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and industry/government standards
• Able to create and modify Finite Element Models and perform classical hand analysis
• Internship or experience in an aerospace or aviation field
• Hardware manufacturing and testing experience
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, capabilities, accuracies and limitations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office platform tools
• Demonstrated proficiency in team leadership
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
*U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university combined with 5+ years of relevant job experience
• Experience with propulsion related systems and components
• Experience with Aerospace engineering applications
