Flight Control Law and Handling Qualities Engineer.
We are developing new concepts of vertical lift which will help transform the way that man flies. In this new and exciting field of vertical lift featuring manned, optionally manned, and unmanned vehicles,
the Handling Qualities and Control Law Lead Engineer will be responsible for:

• Providing technical leadership to a team of engineers on a program
• Control Law design and development
• Integration of Control Laws into flight simulation programs
• Aircraft Stability and Control Design and Analysis
• Conducting wind tunnel tests, reducing data, and incorporating results into simulation math model
• Linear and non-linear analysis of flight control systems
• Aircraft handling qualities analysis and test
• Requirements management
• Verification and validation testing in simulation environment and systems integration labs
• Conducting aircraft flight tests of model and full-scale designs
• Aircraft/system qualification and certification
• Support development of systems architecture, redundancy management, and actuator design and
integration
• Interface with other functions and management on the program

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Major in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
• Masters degree in Engineering is preferred.
Position Requirements:
• At least 9 years of relevant experience in Aerospace industry is preferred.
• Other levels of experience will be considered.
• Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent written and
oral communication skills, and PC skills.

Familiarity with the following is preferred:
• Wind tunnel testing
• 6 degree of freedom simulation models
• Model-based systems engineering
• MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder
• ADS-33 and other Handling Qualities specifications
• Aircraft Parameter Identification
• Control Law Optimization
• Aircraft flight test
• Flight control system development and testing in a systems integration lab
• 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial rotorcraft certification
• Military rotorcraft qualification
• Experience with Enovia, DOORS, and Serena Dimensions
• C/C++ code
• C# test scripts
• GIT
• Previous leadership experience is preferred
