Engineering Program Technical Leader- Eerie, PA

Description:
Role Summary:
The Engineering Program Technical Leader will manage locomotive modernization and new product development projects with broad scope with significant impact to the business. The role requires excellent leadership skills to effectively manage Commercial, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and Reliability deliverables. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The engineering program management focus will be on the business critical NPI and obsolescence programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Ability to accel in a lean mission-based team environment while ensuring optimized designs, validation scope, and customer deliverables by hitting schedule, cost, and performance targets
• Provide technical leadership for a team of engineers for product design aspects of the locomotive system
• Legacy locomotive design and control system optimization required for modernized opportunities
• Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as commercial, proposals, manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, ATO, and systems engineering
• Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Communicate progress to all levels of the organization

Qualifications/ Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• At least five additional years of program design and/or manufacturing experience

Desired Characteristics:
• North America and International locomotive expertise
• Strong electrical/mechanical design and analytical background
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes
• Ability to drive projects to completion
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

Hot Buttons:

Manage electrical component/panel obsolescence program. Engineering support for manufacturing of new locomotive at remote location. Manage validation plan and resources for engineering team on NPI program.
Hardware knowledge on Locomotive products preferred/ Software, recommended, not necessary
