Description: PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a candidate for the Buyer position located in Phoenix, AZ. 1 to 2 years experience Position Responsibilities: The Buyer, within the ISC Capital Procurement organization, will report solid line to the Capital Director and is responsible for all aspects related to the purchase of Direct and Indirect Capital purchases. He/she will be proficient with electronic purchasing systems, negotiating with suppliers, and analyzing total costs and will protect the Company's interests by reviewing and utilizing appropriate contract terms and conditions and contract templates. Negotiates directly with suppliers; completes in-depth price analyses, marketplace surveys, and sole and single-source justifications; develops formal negotiation plans; implements quality requirements and resolves exceptions to terms and conditions. Transactions may exceed $100,000 with a high level of complexity being exhibited on a portion of assignments. Effectively interacts with multiple departments at all levels of internal and external organizations and professionally resolves problems in a fair and ethical manner. The Buyer assists the Sourcing Manager in driving all capital goals and initiatives, and will recommend actions to meet goals and initiatives
Performing all procurement activities Administering purchase orders Purchasing order placement Supporting internal customer requirements Ensuring equitable opportunity for qualified suppliers eSourcing (RFx and eAuctioning events) Analyzing competitive bids and formulate purchase recommendation Comparing/evaluating procurement cost Controlling costs and obtaining savings by using target pricing, reverse auctions, negotiations, and market tests Conducting Price/Cost Analysis Consulting with Commodity Leaders to identify cost savings projects/opportunities Meeting or exceeding established goals and objectives Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University in business or technical field with 1-2 years procurement experience in goods and services buying. - In lieu of degree, 3+ yrs of experience in procurement is required. - Proficiency working with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. - Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time - US Citizen
Additional Qualifications: - Working knowledge of purchasing procedures, concepts, products, services and strategic supplier management preferred. - Contracts negotiation experience preferred. - Green belt or lean certification preferred. - eAuction experience preferred. - Capital experience preferred. - Casting and Machining Knowledge preferred. - Direct and/or Indirect purchasing experience preferred.
