Construction Inspectors Highway/Bridge or Municipal

Description:
*Full time permanent, position with paid Overtime, located in Paterson NJ*
*Candidates must live within 1 hour of Paterson*

*We do not lay off during Winter months*

We are hiring construction inspectors who will specialize in Bridges, Roadways but also may work on other civil and municipal projects. Candidate will perform quality control for new as well as rehabilitation of roads/bridges and general site work, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete work, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation work, coordination and safety.

Candidate should have the background to comprehend contracts, construction plans, construction timing/sequencing, costs, etc. Applicant will also perform proper document control, quality assurance and records documentation, have good mathematical skills and hold inspection certifications.

Required:
*3-6 years conducting construction inspections to NICET standards.
* Heavy highway construction experience, specifically knowledge of bridge, structure and roadway construction methods and materials
*Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record
*Able to work during either daytime or nighttime shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary

Pluses:
*Familiar with NJDOT construction, bridge (rehabilitation & new) and roadway (earthwork, sub base, concrete and asphalt pavement, drainage, sewer, waterlines and mains, lighting, guiderail and striping for rehabilitation / new) inspection and maintenance and protection of traffic for day night operations.
*Any of the following certifications: ACI or NETTCP Certification, NACE or AWI Certification, CCR - Erosion & Sediment Control Inspection NICET II, III or IV certification in Heavy Highway
*Knowledge of construction materials (steel, concrete, soil, hot mix asphalt, aggregate, etc.) *Familiar with surveying, recording linear measurements/geometric shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, trapezoid, cylinder, circle), density, weight, etc.
*NICET (NICET III or IV certification in Heavy Highway)
