Customer Service Representative

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative, in Austin, TX.

  • You will be fielding calls from the Institution (Education) customers.
  • Knowledge of our products is required Low-level understanding of technology extremely helpful; understanding of iOS devices and how you get software on them. Majority of the day will be fielding in-bound calls.
  • The reason for bringing on additional resources is to free up the current team with more time to help the inside sales and field sales teams with quotes for customers.
  • Half of the calls received are from people who have never previously purchased from us.
  • They fall into 3 buckets: 1) New Schools 2) New SAP # request – new person wanting their own account 3) New Contact at a current customer – (“librarian at a school is taking over the position and has to buying the clients products.
  • No idea how to go about the process – reps have to walk them through from beginning to end.)
  • Another group of calls are not going to the right department “queue” to be handled correctly.
  • Reps need to understand which department in our company they need to re-direct those calls.
  • Post-Sales calls are another example – questions or concerns after the sale are handled by a different queue and need to be directed to that specific team.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations; coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  • Critical skills include:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a passion for customer service, strong technical aptitude, resourcefulness and flexibility.
  • Advanced judgment, negotiation and problem solving skills. Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Must have excellent relationship-building skills with other internal organizations.
