EE Technical Designer/Electrical Wire Designer III - (PA)

Description:
Supports the EDI Wiring Process & Tools teams to instantiate the necessary improvements driving quality and efficiency across BDS. Coordinate design teams across BDS enabling commonality at all levels of design. Coordinate a multi-disciplined and international team to achieve the EDI Deployment and Sustainment of the Capital Logic Component Library and Symbol Library. Primary duties include:

Enter and update parts in library as appropriate
Enable commonality of EDI Design and Standards across BDS
Execute BDS Library change control board decisions (both for components and symbology)
Develop necessary configuration control mechanisms and process documentation to enable a common library system that can support rapid design additions as well as multi-program derivations
Coordinate and support reduction of the backlog of parts and symbol entry needed for each program deployment. Support Deployment Specialists to keep program need dates up to date and hold program accountable to provide specification sheets when required for part entry
Coordinate the efforts of the distributed team of core librarians entering parts and symbols into the tool
Responsible for the overall quality of each component and symbol in the Capital Tools Suite Library
Provide guidance and query responses to core librarians
Coordinate and attend international calls to destinations such as India at reasonable hours for both parties.

Baseline description: Develops, maintains and releases electrical/mechanical drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards. Using design tools prepares documentation and incorporates design changes. Creates, develops and maintains systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and assisting in identifying design discrepancies. Supports engineering system design and functionality validation activities. Develops and maintains product installation designs and part designs ranging from simple to moderately complex. Coordinates activities and products with internal partners and external suppliers. Works under general direction.


Additional Experience Requirements:
Familiarity in wire design, wire installation
Experience in harness design.
Knowledge of Electrical System Design and best practices.
Knowledge of part standards.
Experience in Computer Aided Design and drafting standards.
Familiarity with Configuration and Data Management.
1 -2 to years of experience with the Mentor Graphics Capital tools suite (including Logic, HarnessXC, and Library)
Familiarity with CAD Tools, such as CEEDS, as well as EXCEL spreadsheets

AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
