Manufacturing Engineer III

Description:
Position Summary: This position will work with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams and will ensure the successful integration of each design element with production. This individual will work both independently as well as part of a team to complete projects related to the production of aircraft components, assemblies and installations involving metallic and composite assemblies. The individual will lead and coordinate projects to eliminate defects and reduce costs. The individual should be proficient in systems routing, finishes, human factors, structural assembly, and manufacturing processes. The individual will work on continuous improvement and corrective action while coordinating and with Engineering, Quality, M&P, Tool Services, Production, MTE, and Production Control. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within aerospace.
Communicate with suppliers, translate technical information and ensure compliance to standards and requirements.
Tackle complex multi-faceted problems with competing requirements under significant schedule constraints.
Identify critical issues, perform risk assessments and communicate impact to stakeholders.
Directs work of others and acts as a lead.
Supporting manufacturing with technical issues, e.g. design, documentation, specifications etc.
Tooling implementation.
Continuous improvement, cost out initiatives, process flow improvements
Transfer of product between facilities to maximize efficiencies.
Key interface between supporting departments and manufacturing e.g. Quality, Engineering.
Engage in the completion of safety risk assessment, ergonomics, to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:

Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or the equivalent in training, education and experience.
Requires proficiency using CATIA V5.
Highly competent using MS Office products.
Strong leadership ability and excellent communication skills are necessary.

Physical Requirements: Individual must be able to sit for extended periods of time, working at a desk and/or attending meetings. May occasionally require employee to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Will need to be able to move throughout the office or production facility and communicate with other employees and management. Work will be performed in an office and production facility environment.
