55315 NC Programmer

NC Programmer

Location: Reading, PA

6 month contract - ASAP start date 

Capable of programming metallic and composite parts (Including honeycomb core), verifying programs, Catia V5, also programming for tools and fixtures, (Includes molds for composite part fab, trim tools, assy fixtures etc.

Configure tools and ensure efficient production.

Analyze blueprints in order to calculate correct part dimension for tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.

Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.

Assist with and/or constructs fixtures, jigs, tools, soft vise jaws, shop aids

Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.

Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined.

Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.

Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufacture of parts.

Analyzes product definition drawings or computer models for appropriate method of accomplishing the requested N/C operation.

Develops a machining and/or inspection process methodology or reviews requested methodology for operational feasibility and completeness.

Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.

Develops tool, probe, or measuring machine paths utilizing tool axis control for multi-axis operations including validity of selected cutting tools and/or probes to perform the requested operation.

Performs verification of part programs to ensure resultant data will produce or inspect product to quality requirements including utilization of computerized tools.

Performs Software Quality Assurance (SQA) steps including the creation of a documentation folder for each N/C program and participates in the validation of N/C programs in manufacturing areas.

Performs project administration and related leadership duties, which include project status reporting, preparing project documentation, user/vendor liaison, planning and scheduling.

Defines, develops, and improves machining processes and identifies and resolves N/C manufacturing problems.

Min years of experience:

8 to 10 years, Degree Requirements: Associate degree or higher, willing to look at individuals where experience compensates for degree.
