Electrical Technician

Description:
Responsibilities
• Assist with maintenance activities for power conversion equipment. Two significant activities to be performed include maintenance of manually operated bolted pressure contact switches (3250A, 1kV) and pneumatically controlled grounding switches (2500A, 15kV).
• Removal and rerouting of power cables from ceiling cable trays
• Removal and installation of control wiring
Qualifications and Skills
• High School diploma
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an electrical technician
• Physical dexterity to work on bolted pressure switches on the top of converters (approx. 10 ft. above floor) and power cable work in ceiling trays.
• Ability to terminate control wiring
• Experience using low voltage and high voltage (to 15kV) electrical test equipment for insulation resistance and high potential testing
