CNC Programmer / Process Engineer

Description:
Create the process and methodology of producing aerospace parts by CNC milling, create NC code for automated 5-axis milling operations, design all fixturing and tools necessary, document and continuously improve process

Qualifications & Responsibilities:
• Determine process and methodology in which the part will be produced
• Design fixturing, including modeling and making drawings of necessary components
• Proper cutting tool selection and understanding of feeds and speeds optimization
• Write NC code for 5-axis CNC machines using NX software and customer supplied solid models or prints (and model creation when none is supplied)
• Confirms process validity by utilizing Vericut simulation software (previous experience not mandatory, but preferred)
• CNC machine set-up, trial running, debugging and optimization of programs
• Creates in-process prints/set-up sheets for shop use with proper dimensioning and tolerancing
• Competent understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
• Interpreting of customer supplied prints to ensure correct intent
• Document and continuously improve process
• Optimize production planning to meet scheduling demands
