Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator in Hazelwood, MO. 

Job Purpose:

Maintain synchronization of Shipping & Receiving by coordinating all day to day activities. Communicate what needs to be done to coworkers,customers and operations to ensure all material or shipments are available to meet customer and production demand.  

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Develop and implement strategy to communicate daily work schedule to the shipping and receiving team. Ensure the appropriate schedule information is available to all and is achievable.
  2. Receive the manufacturing Work Orders into the MRP system. Daily. Execution of the manufacturing work orders by shipping, tracking and reporting all shipments to ensure compliance to the daily schedules. Identify issues that prevent the successful execution of the daily schedules.
  3. Manage schedules to ensure trucking and transportation  to support daily shipping activities
  4. Expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments to ensure material is available for shop floor production or if finished goods, are stocked and available for shipment to the customer.
  5. Works with Shop ERP Analyst to review manufacturing LOB status, commitments and schedules. Works with VSM and Customers to ensure critical shipment are taking place in a well communicated and timely manor.
  6. Performs ERP and related business system transactions as required to support shipping, receiving, operations, supply chain, inventory management and business system compliance.
  7. Releases, prints and delivers Shippers to the packing team
  8. Performs cycle counts and make adjustments as necessary to inventory to ensure appropriate inventory reporting.
  9. Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.

    • High School Diploma or equivalent 

    Additional Desired Qualifications & Experience

    • Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning is a plus.
    • Previous experience and working knowledge of ERP, MRP and other manufacturing systems is a plus.
    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and scheduling organization is a plus, but not required.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing.
    • Understanding and working knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • High level of accuracy in reporting.
    • Self-motivated with an ability to multitask with many diverse assignments.
    • Self-directed to perform work with minimal supervisory oversight.
    • Proven/demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and working with Standard Work Instructions.

    Physical Demands

    • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment. 
    • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
    • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
    • Must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials 
    • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
