The selected candidate will develop and implement software integration plans in a lab environment supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems.


Essential Functions:

•Write, rewrite, and/or edit documents such as operational procedure manuals and related technical publications
•Communicate clearly and effectively, operational specifications and instructions to aircrew audiences to include military personnel
•Act as a resourceful point of contact to Engineering and the Test teams
•Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
•Develop, implement, and support the Technical Order (TO) development and build plans
•Demonstrate initiative to acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
•Requires active participation in overseeing the preparation of illustrative materials, including the selection of drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts

Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.


Basic Qualifications:

6 Years with Bachelors, 4 Years with Masters, or equivalent experience. Previous Flight Manual authoring and development experience. Familiar with pilot and/or mission operator controls, displays, and general knowledge of aircraft systems. Previous experience developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs). Strong attention to detail and personal organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Military and/or Pilot experience preferred in unmanned or manned aircraft. Familiar with pilot and sensor operator controls, displays, and general knowledge of all aircraft systems. Ability to support airworthiness military type certification. General understanding of S1000D, SGML or XML authoring software, common source database, and technical publications development processes. Ability to interpret engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, alert bulletins and other technical documents. Possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Must be able to perform work with little or minimal supervision. High literacy in structured authoring environment (bookplan structure, task numbering and DTDs/schema, elements, tagging and attributes). Experience producing electronic technical data.
