EHS Compliance Assistant

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking an EHS Compliance Assistant, in Denver, CO.

Basic Function:

Conducts intermediate/advanced level administrative support and technical assistance for various departments under general supervision.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
  • Provides administrative support as assigned and as needed.
  • Participate in webex meetings: weekly team staff meetings and team procedure reviews.
  • Training Recorder; enters training records into SharePoint and key training completed by all asphalt employees into the corporate LMS.
  • Compliance Calendar Software; lead person to work with web-based vendor to troubleshoot problems reported; oversee that all Plant’s compliance tasks are on-track; produce a monthly graph to trend progress; send out reminders for any overdue tasks.
  • H2S Compliance. Assign personal gas H2S monitors to new employees; track overdue docking; track missing H2S incident reports; produce monthly charts to trend H2S compliance.
  • OESuite Administrator; setup new employees in web-based software; assist with tracking incidents and corrective actions to completion; produce monthly graphs to trend progress.
  • Performs daily office responsibilities (i.e., phones, faxes, copying, filing, mail, typing, etc.).
  • Provides mail processing for the office as needed (i.e. incoming, outgoing, overnight packages, certified mail, etc.).
  • Setup purchase orders/requisitions in Ariba.
  • Orders and distributes various supplies and other items (i.e. food, badges) and inventories supplies on a regular basis.
  • Meeting Planning; schedules internal and/or external meetings; webex’s in Outlook; negotiating contracts: off-site hotels and catering, assist with setting up meeting agenda, etc.
  • Performs various data entry assignments.
  • Coordinates various processes and maintains documents and records related to process (may include audits).
  • Prepares, monitors and maintains various files, reports, records, systems, and documents including invoices, spreadsheets, etc.
  • May perform analysis and review of various assigned transactions.
  • Department document control coordinator.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
  • Travel to Team Meetings 1-2+ times per year.

  • 1-3 years.

Educational Level:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to apply pre-established guidelines to intermediate level administrative and data entry assignments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Organized, effectively manages time, able to prioritize, and take initiative.
  • Ability to perform both technical and administrative clerical assignments.
  • Good problem solving, listening skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, basic reading and writing skills;
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, ability to work independently, cultivate and maintain professional business relationships, multi-task and maintain equanimity under pressure; detail oriented, punctual, dependable and flexible.
  • Works well with employees of all levels in organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). SAP and Ariba preferred.
