Manufacturing Manager

Description:
Nesco Resource is seeking a Manufacturing Manager of Facilities and Maintenance will have responsibility for facilities repair and maintenance and the supervision of employees in the Maintenance Department. While maintaining the facility, he or she will comply with all environmental, health and safety regulations. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations.



Location: Saginaw, Michigan

 

Job Descriptions:  




  • Comply with environmental, health and safety laws and regulations

  • Act as backup to the EH&S Manager 

  • Supervise, direct, schedule work and develop employees in the Maintenance Department

  • Hold employees accountable for quality and quantity of work

  • Develop training for employees

  • Plan and execute a preventive maintenance program

  • Conduct maintenance audits throughout the facility

  • Travel as necessary, including internationally

  • Work with all levels of internal personnel to achieve goals

  • Work with operations management to schedule machine and building maintenance and repair activities

  • Abide by the collective bargaining agreement, upholding contractual and work rules

  • Oversee all facility contracts together with the Purchasing Dept. for building and property maintenance and repair

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers

  • Develop and sustain positive vendor and service provider relationships

  • Achieve cost savings targets

  • Work a flexible schedule to include weekends and call-ins

  • Utilize problem solving methods to identify root cause and implement meaningful and effective corrective measures

  • Participate in planning and executing lean manufacturing events in the facility

  • Due to project planning and emergency situations, must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, call-ins and extended hours. 


 Job Requirements:


  • BS degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in facilities management

  • Working knowledge of plant power systems, including, but not limited to primary switch gear, secondary switch gear and distribution system and plant systems; i.e. water towers, air compressors, heat treating, hydromation, waste treatment and process boiler, as well as the respective controllers

  • Experience with precision machining, industrial automation and CNC machines

  • Experience supervising in a unionized environment

  • Experience with the maintenance and repair of machine tools

  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job including (but not limited to) walking, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, grasping, ladder climbing, stair climbing, reading, speaking and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated team player

  • Hands on approach, willing to “roll up the sleeves”

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Due to our status as a defense contractor, must be a US  Citizen
