Planning Technician

PDS Tech is currently seeking a Planning Technician for Tempe, AZ

Provides technical support to corporate planning analysts and supervisors. Assists in developing forecasts of future electricity demands, prepares periodic reports such as KWH sales budget to actual comparisons, develops new planning tools such as forecasting models and ensures that all information and data provided is reliable.

• Responsible for coordinating in-house data base using mainframe and PC.
• Assists in analysis of load management.
• Develops comparison reports requiring input of data and produces reports reflecting monthly budgeted/actual KWH sales.
• Produces data in tabular and graphical forms for publication.
• Assists planning analysts in developing forecasting models, applying statistical and econometric techniques to historical data.
• Tabulates new customer data requiring mapping of new residential, commercial and industrial loads.
• Develops monthly performance indicators, involving calculation of variance for certain sales and revenue quantities.
• Operates land-use model, maintaining complex data base and utilizing a series of sophisticated computer programs.
• Coordinates development of graphic used in presentations by corporate planning, requiring organization of data.
• Completes special projects as assigned by supervision and/or planning analysts.
• To interrogate interval data meters, process data through validation, editing, and estimation (VEE) techniques, and store processed data in a database for use in customer data requests, load research studies, and/or by Special Contract Billing.
