Quality Engineer

"PDS is seeking a Quality Engineer for an open position in Kinston, NC.

In your role you will: - Develop process, systems, and equipment that ensure the quality, reliability, and system safety of company or procured products and services. - Provide quality system design and analysis review to validate the integrity of quality decisions that affect products and services. - Analyze contractual, product definition, and specification requirements for the development or modification of methods, procedures, and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained. - Analyze and provides material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts, and equipment. - Perform scientific evaluations and analyses and processes audits. - Test and approve products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems. - Ensure that resulting processes provide for configuration management. - Participate in design and product reviews to ensure that producibility, inspectability, reliability, safety, Quality System integrity, and business process management objectives are met. - Perform such research as benchmarking to industry standards; analyze and compile performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality. - Perform root cause analyses. - Recommend and support the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate non-conformance to design specifications. - Interface with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. - Develop and use statistical methodologies to ensure that specified levels of safety, reliability, and process capability are achieved, maintained, or improved. - Apply knowledge of company policies, procedures, processes, and specification requirements to assist suppliers in developing and maintaining a compliant quality system."

Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have Aerospace Manufacturing background preferably in Composites

Must be experienced in PFMEA
Must have Process Mapping
Extensive knowledge in development and implementation of control plans
8D and/or Apollo Root Cause Correction Process
