Power Supply Test Design Engineer

Power Supply Test Design Engineer
(US Citizenship Required*)
Pittsfield, MA

Responsibilities:
• Develop and transfer Power Supply Acceptance Tests
• Develop Power Supply Test Fixtures, Acceptance Test Pans (ATP), and Acceptance Test Specifications (ATS)
• Analyze Fault Coverage and Test Equipment Accuracy
• Support troubleshooting and repair of failed power supplies
• Assist / mentor Power Supply Test Development Team
• Substantial contribution to
o Analyze, define, and manage electrical requirements
o Analyze function & performance (e.g. timing, power, etc.)
o Design, integrate and verify electrical components, equipment and systems
• Contribute to / support
o generate and maintain electrical work products (plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers
o research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
o generate engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle
o improving electrical organizational processes
• Plan and lead electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conduct experimental tests, evaluate results to formulate, and implement solutions to issues
• Develop and present electrical requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management and external customers
• Substantial contribution to electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systems
• Evaluate vendor capability to support product development
• Select components and equipment based on analysis of requirements
• Plan and execute project tasks for activities described above
• Work with multiple work groups, including with senior levels; regular Contact with project leaders and Program Managers; some contact with external customers
• May contribute to technical subcontract management that may include technical oversight and subcontractor work product evaluation

Qualifications:
• Proficient in the theories, principles, processes, design tools, and techniques of Electrical Engineering
• Proficient knowledge of other related disciplines
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Proficient written and verbal communications skills
• Able to think creatively, to multi-task, and sell concepts & ideas
• Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
• Able to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering design
• Travel and/or security clearance may be required
• Understands and applies basic project management principles including IMS, earned value and score cards
• Able to work well in a team environment
Preferred:
• NH Research 8100i and 5700 Testers
• emPower Test Executive
• PowerBook and/or Visual Basic Programming
• C programming and UNIX
• Java, Kermit, and/or Perl scripting
• Power Supply Test and the Test Engineering Process
*US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's and 3+ years of relevant experience.
