We have an Excellent Contract position for a Software Asset Management Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Rancho Cordova, CA area. Please enter Job ID when applying.

Software Asset Management Specialist in the Information Technology department will be involved in the management of software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning, and costing. Provide oversight of hardware assets managed by the IT Outsource Organization.

Job Responsibilities:
Facilitate the business’ needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.
Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and Aerojet Rocketdyne to obtain identified savings.
Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
Ensure asset management contractual obligations are met by the ITOO
Administer software audits initiated by software publishers as well as internally initiated software audits.
Manage validation of hardware assets with IT Outsource Organization.
Review Asset management policies and procedures and ensuring ITOO’s compliance.
Generate Purchase Requisitions and receive invoices in Oracle ERP system.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in Software Asset Management.
Proven researching ability.
IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
IAITAM CSAM certification.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge in the ServiceNow Ticket management system.
General accounting knowledge.
Oracle Experience.
Cloud licensing experience.
Specific licensing experience in Oracle and Microsoft licensing.
