Systems Administration (Unix/General) Specialist 4

Systems Administration (Unix/General) Specialist 4

Bring your experience in WSUS to our team as a Windows System Admin position.

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and other operating system workstations and servers.
• Install and upgrade software to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedule installations and upgrades; maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
• Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
• Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.

• Experience of the underlying knowledge for supporting Windows server and workstation platforms in a non-domain joined environment
• Experience with the implementation and support for Windows Server Update Services in the following areas:
o Support for the underlying infrastructure
o Application of WSUS policy / settings to managed nodes
o Patch approval and deployment procedures
o Familiarity with patch testing procedures
o In-depth experience with PowerShell scripting
• Experience implementing, supporting and using PowerShell Desired State Configuration

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
