Lead Systems Engineer

Lead Systems Engineer
(US Citizenship Required*)
Taunton, MA

Join our team to provide solutions to both Fire Control System programs and the Army Command, Control & Communications – Tactical, developing novel approaches to the Army’s network modernization goals including engagement in Cross-Functional Team experimentation to modernize the tactical network and integrate onto mobile platforms.

• Analyze, define, and manage requirements; analyze function and performance; design, integrate, and test systems; study detail trade and validation /interface definition of system, subsystem or system elements with minimal supervision
• Create technical plans; analyze cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness for subsystems and system elements
• Analyze customer requirements, develop system requirements, and define allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)
• Perform detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem or system elements
• Develop and evaluate systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet governmental security specifications
• Contribute to detailed technical analyses at the system of system (SOS) level
• Synthesize solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints
• Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses
• Lead Modeling and Simulation activities
• Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
• Support technical engineering product generation
• Research, design, and develop systems in conjunction with software and hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of systems engineering, etc
• Lead and/or direct to lower level employees; lead technical tasks for small teams or projects
• Provide engineering support to proposals; participate in/lead SOW generation for subcontracts
• Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
• Design a complete and complex framework, system or product
• Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)
• Frequent contact with managers, project teams, customers, and vendors
• Resolve a diverse range of complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativity
• May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features of the system are considered and function properly
• May develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems
• Travel may be required – 20%

• Required – active Secret clearance. Candidates without active Secret clearance will not be considered.
• Background in DoD programs required.
• Full understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
• Strong knowledge of other related disciplines
• Proficient with requirements management & system modeling tools
• Magic Draw experience; SysML background
• Agile design/development experience
• Recognizes various architectural patterns; applies them appropriately
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicates issues, impacts, and corrective actions
• Gets buy-in on concepts and ideas
• Creative thinker; multi-tasker
• Able to clearly report information relevant to sound systems engineering design
• Full understanding of basic project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, or related, required (or equivalent experience) and 8 years’ experience; or Master's and 6 years’ experience.
• Agile experience preferred.
