Electronic Inspector

Description:
We have an Excellent position for an Inspector to join a leading Fortune 500 Company located in the Austin, TX area.
Seeking candidates with electronic inspection experience with a focus on circuit card assembly. Candidates will perform Quality and workmanship inspections of soldering and mechanical assembly required in the manufacturing of electronic circuit card assemblies in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment with minimal supervision during second shift. Candidates will work with various tools including microscopes, ring lights, hand tools, and measuring devices. Task requires an ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time while meeting quality and rate goals. Candidates will be expected to review demands presented in automated systems, work with cell leads and factory manager to develop strategies to meet requirements while managing targets associated with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Skills Required:
• The ideal candidate should have experience with circuit card manufacturing, understand how to identify electronic components and proper orientation of them onto a circuit board according to polarity, inspect fine pitch soldering, wire mods, and mechanical assemblies.
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and be able to use a computer to communicate with the team.
• Able to interpret and understand the instructions on process sheets, prints, or route cards.
• Able to use hand tools (cutters, pliers, pre-formers, screwdrivers, paintbrushes, etc.).
• Able to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
• Able to Identify and document defects, and calculates defect rates against specified control limits.
• Inspects subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications or repairs to verify defects have been corrected and ensure continuity to drawings, prints, etc.
• Verifies configuration of product to ensure conformity to most recent revision.
• Prepares basic inspection data and inputs into the Shop Floor Data System for future review and evaluation.
• Maintains required records.
• May interface with engineering regarding technical issues (i.e., clarification of engineering change orders) and problem resolution.

Experience Required:
• Six (6) months of electronic assembly inspection experience.

Experience Preferred:
• Active IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications. (class 3 solder) Six (6) months of electronic assembly inspection experience.

Education Required:
• Must successfully complete in-house IPC and J-STD-001 certifications as a condition of continued employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
