Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Discretion/Latitude
Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.

This benchmark is intended to be used by companies that have generic classifications engaged in research and/or product development encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical. 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD



Will support the analysis of submarine structural systems. Will perform specification trade studies and prepare recommendations for the design and engineering of structural systems in support of the submarine program.

Must have experience in the below areas:
• Good working understanding of Finite Element modeling theory and practice
• Understanding of welding as it applies to the development of structural systems and components;
• Capable of interfacing with Design to understand design and arrangement constraints of various structural systems, and lead other engineers and designers in the development of these systems to meet the requirements; and
• Coordinate discussions and incorporate engineering aspects with manufacturing, tooling, materials and planning trades.
Confidential clearance is highly desired
Some travel may be required, but it will be infrequent (2 or 3 times/year).
