Sr Hardware Engineer

Description:
Title: Sr Hardware Engineer
Location: Manchester, NH
Duration: 8-month contract

As a highly-motivated, top-notch senior hardware engineer you will have an opportunity to showcase your expertise in specifying, designing, developing, and testing a new hardware solution for our Energy Management Systems business.
With your passion for hardware development, we want to bring you together with like-minded, innovative suppliers, hardware development, software development and manufacturing teams to work collaboratively throughout the product lifecycle.

Required:
Ability to design robust analog and digital circuits for microcontroller and applications-processor based industrial products
Strong debugging skills of complex applications-processor and microcontroller based systems.
In depth experience and high level of skill using Altium Schematic Capture and PCB design in a standards based development environment
Ability to work closely with PCB designers to insure designs meet corporate standards.
Create and execute detailed test plans to insure product meets all marketing and functional requirements
Experience with design simulation tools (LTSpice)
Skilled in designing circuits to meet global EMI emissions and safety standards including strong experience mitigating emissions which exceed specifications. Requirements include meeting Philips corporate emissions limits as well as appropriate agency limits
Deep understanding of isolated and non-isolated RS485 communications in noisy environments
Thorough knowledge of, and strong design experience with, industrial controls interfaces including 0-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA, relays, and temperature sensing with thermistors
Experience designing and debugging 10/100 and gigabit Ethernet interfaces. Includes PHY and MAC interfaces, as well as termination, mag selection and EMI management
Experience deigning and debugging low power (?15W) SMPS, including knowledge of isolation and Class 2 requirements
Desired:

Knowledge and experience of Modbus RTU protocol
Experience with building automation and energy management systems
Familiar with FW development and debugging tools as well as ability to write C debugging code to verify proper HW operation
Experience with BACnet MS/TP protocol
Familiar with Modbus/TCP
Experience with FW development and debugging tools as well as ability to write C debugging code to verify proper HW operation
Ability to write/port C based TCP applications using Berkeley sockets
Education and Experience:

BSEE or MSEE
10 years designing and debugging HW in areas identified above.
