Software Test Engineer

Description:
Software Code Inspector (Test Engineer)

Job Location Danbury, CT

Approximately 6 month contract

Position Summary:

The Software Code Inspector (Test Engineer II) will perform requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation for automated test equipment, test program sets, as well as embedded diagnostics test applications. Ideally test experience should include inspection pertaining to style, functionality and design specifications. Candidate must be an energetic, highly motivated individual with the ability to work off shift and weekend hours if needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience with requirements analysis
Test experience as it pertains to code inspection for style, functionality and requirements compliance
Strong familiarity with qualification methods (DO-178B or DO-178C)
Highly motivated individual with the ability to work off shift and weekend hours if needed
Ability to interpret Interface Design Descriptions and Software Requirements
Experience with C programming using a Windows environment (C++, Java, XML, Visual Basic, or Assembly)
Ability to work with little supervision cooperatively with all personnel in the organization
Demonstrate proactive ownership of issues and problems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
Must have Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in software design and/or software test engineering
Knowledgeable in both structured and object-oriented programming techniques
U.S. Citizenship required.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in software design and/or software test engineering
Knowledgeable in both structured and object-oriented programming techniques
Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW graphical development environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis. This position may require frequent sitting, standing and/or walking.
