Engineering Designer/Facilitator I

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Rate: $40.00/HR
Duration: 3 month contract

** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens **
** Permanent residents are NOT eligible for this role **
** Dual citizens are NOT eligible for this role. Also, candidates with a current non-U.S. passport in addition to a U.S. passport are NOT acceptable **

Duties:
-Under general direction, performs engineering design assignments requiring a wide application of CAD utilization, Data management/drawing tracking & Design Change implementation.
-Update Product Definition to incorporate comments from review cycle.
-Performs design pre-verification (prior to official check) required for successful Windchill model/drawing tasks.
-Creo 2.0 CAD drawings and models of moderate complexity within Windchill PLM System version 10.
-Capable of managing moderate CAD assemblies and engineering BOM.
-Provide routing of Product definition and other supporting documents in support of on time release and FPY metrics for design.
-Participates in preliminary and critical design review preparations.
-Participates as a member of a project team responsible for escalating issues in a timely manner when commitment dates of assigned and individual work cannot be met.
-Review engineering drawings, design packages and related data for compliance to internal process requirements, accuracy and completeness.
-Support to Inter-organizational Product Teams is frequent and providing solutions to technical document delays associated with Windchill PLM assignments is required.
-Performs assignments that typically have specified objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables.

Skills:
-Must be an experienced engineer with knowledge of CAD using PTC Creo2.
-Position requires experience using CAD database management tools (Windchill/Teamcenter preferred).
-Pre-verification of CAD models and drawings in the PLM system is also required.
-Effective interpersonal and communication skills and must be able to operate effectively in a team environment.
-Expert knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings and related specifications is also required.
-Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel) is required to track assignments of Product teams. -Knowledge of CREO2 CAD software is a plus.

Education:
-Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline and 5 years of related technical experience as engineering designer or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and some related technical experience as engineering designer or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
-Experience in Design and Manufacturing is a must.
