Database Architect.

• Provide expertise and guidance in the development and design of databases, stored procedures and query design to help ensure optimal performance, scalability and reliability of application databases.
• Act as the subject matter expert regarding ETL and data migration and provide assistance to data warehouse development.
• Design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.
• Analyzes needs and requirements, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
• Work with development teams during the planning stages of new features involving the creation or major modification of a database, table or stored procedures.
• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery and make recommendation regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Develop stored procedures and/or triggers
• Database management, database maintenance, tuning, backups and recovery management.
• Maintain security and integrity controls, and user security management.
• Document and improve work processes. Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
• Act as the resource to management in regards to strategic direction for database technologies and best practices.

REQUIRED
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and maintaining relational databases in support of desktop or web based software.
• Minimum of 5 years MS SQL
• Strong knowledge of database design, query cost and performance measurement, use of stored procedures and performance tuning, ETL spell out processes, data transfer and data migration methods.
• Deep understanding of object-relational mapping, data schemes/structures, functions and normalization -e.g. tables, data types, views, indexes, triggers, stored procs, runtime classes
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate with all product stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills as well as ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment are required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required, although no security clearance is needed. Start Time: 12:00 AM

Additional Job Details: DESIRED • Prefer 2+ years of experience with IBM DB2. • Project management and facilitation skills. • Experience with task estimation • Experience with SCRUM/Agile -e.g. User Stories, Work Tasks • Experience with Team Foundation Server EDUCATION • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Database Management Systems or related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
