Description

The successful candidate will provide product engineering support to PWB/CCA design activities for Ground base, AirBorne, surface ship and under seas programs. Candidate will interact with PWB designers, and electrical/mechanical engineers and production facilities.
Candidate will work as a member of Integrated Product Development teams throughout the design process to ensure PWB/CCA designs are optimized for manufacturing.
Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews of PWB/CCA designs to ensure producibility goals are met within technical, cost and schedule requirements.
Support the transition of designs to manufacturing by providing technical support to both internal and external facilities.
Assist in the resolution of design issues identified during production. Keep DFM standards up to date with improvements in manufacturing process capabilities.
Perform trade studies
Skill/Experience/Education 

Mandatory:

The candidate must have previous experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials related to PWB/CCA designs and production.

Candidate must be familiar with military systems design/production processes.

Knowledge of industry standards and common practices including but not limited to IPC-2221, J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-6012, IPC-600, IPC-6013 and the standards specified within them.

Work in a team environment as well as independently.

Candidate must have well developed communications skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels including outside PWB design and manufacturing facilities.



Desired:

In-depth knowledge of PWB fabrication and assembly processes.

Familiar with manufacturing processes for high density interconnect (HDI) designs.

Ability to identify and evaluate complex sets of dependent PWB fabrication and assembly processes and develop creative solutions.

Familiar with Zuken and Cadence CAD tools. Experience evaluating design with DFM software tools such as ADIVA or Valor.
